Drs. Frank Guerra, Dan Fisher, and Christopher Reyburn collaborate closely and strive for a seamless integration of care. Together, Drs. Guerra, Fisher, and Reyburn have completed over 80,000 ECT treatments and bring over 70 years of medical experience to bear in managing some of the most complex illnesses possible. This level of experience makes The Guerra Fisher Institute the most experienced ECT practice in the Mountain States region of the western United States. Our practice routinely cares for individuals from a 6-state catchment area that includes Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, and Nebraska. We relocated to Boulder Community Health in Boulder, Colorado in 2011, and we enjoy having a full range of on-site consultative services such as Internal Medicine, Neurology, and Cardiology. Our physical integration inside of a general hospital allows multidisciplinary collaboration to take place under the same roof.
The Guerra Fisher Institute offers unique services in that Dr. Guerra is Board-Certified in both Anesthesiology and Psychiatry. He provides the anesthesia during ECT procedures and he draws upon four decades of experience in providing real-time anesthesiology and psychiatry advice to Drs. Fisher and Reyburn in a thoroughly collaborative spirit. It is indeed rare to have an anesthesiologist who comprehends the complex needs of ECT patients. Having the same anesthesiologist during ECT also allows for a high degree of reproducibility of results.Jennifer S. Perrin, Susanne Merz, Daniel M. Bennett, James Currie, Douglas J. Steele, Ian C.
